The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a Cambridge, Massachusetts based organization that conducts global evaluations in order to improve anti-poverty efforts. Since The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab was founded in 2003, its team of global researchers have conducted over 300 evaluations in more than 50 countries around the world in areas of agriculture, education, energy, finance, health, political economy and more. The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab operates out of the Massachusetts Institute of Technologys' Economics Department, with additional offices in North America, Europe, Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia where they partner with local universities, nonprofits, NGOs, foundations, donors, and research centers. The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab employs more than 600 people, most of whom are research focused, and offers part-time scheduling positions.
