Crisis Text Line is a nonprofit organization offering around-the-clock texting support services for people in crisis, much as other services use telephone hotlines. Headquartered in New York, New York, Crisis Text Line was launched in 2013 by members of the social action platform DoSomething.org to help texters, who are primarily young people, quickly and easily get the live support and assistance they need in any type of emotional crisis. 

Crisis Text Line professionals work in concert with youth crisis centers, teen-focused organizations, and mental health experts, taking advantage of a communications medium (texting) that most teens are comfortable using. Since its inception, Crisis Text Line has processed more than 62 million messages and is continuing to grow its capacity to match the growing need.
