Green Schoolyards America (GSA) is transforming school grounds covered in asphalt into park-like green spaces that improve children’s learning, well-being, and play while contributing to the climate resilience and ecological health of the community. The organization is a fiscally-sponsored project of Earth Island Institute, a nonprofit environmental group founded in 1982. In times of growth, GSA has posted flexible communications, nonprofit & philanthropy, environmental & green, government & politics, and youth & children jobs, among others, for qualified professionals who are strongly passionate about the organization’s mission and demonstrate knowledge of environmental, education, and health-related policy areas. With these roles, Green Schoolyards America has enabled full-time, 100% remote arrangements. Green Schoolyards America prioritizes schools that have the greatest need for educational, open-space, environmental, and health improvements. Its major initiatives include the National Schoolyard Forest System, the Schoolyard Forest System Resource Library, the Living Schoolyards Act, and the National Outdoor Learning Library.
