What began as a fund started by two families, the Family Reach Foundation was launched as an official nonprofit organization in 2003. The Family Reach Foundation provides financial and emotional support to families with a child or young adult who is being treated for cancer, as well as some special cases where a child is impacted by the illness of a family member. Headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey, the Family Reach Foundation has partnered with several hospitals, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. The social workers and resource managers at the network of hospitals help the Family Reach Foundation to find families in need of their services. As an employer, the Family Reach Foundation has offered part-time and flexible schedule work opportunities in the past.
