Galapagos Conservancy is on a mission to support and advance the conservation of the biodiversity of Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. It works each day to accomplish this goal through directed research, informed public policy, conservation management, and building a sustainable society. Based in Fairfax, Virginia, the nonprofit has been operating for over 30 years as the United States' only organization exclusively focused on "protecting the unique ecosystems and biological integrity of the Galapagos archipelago.” 

Since its founding, Galapagos Conservancy has collaborated with organizations and individuals in Galapagos and beyond to aid in scientific research required for decision-making, policy, and conservation. The team also works to supply crucial management institutions with financial resources. Galapagos Conservancy differentiates itself from other organizations with its commitment to collaboration. It favors investments in local and national organizations that will take authority and responsibility for protecting the environment long-term. Some institutions the team has partnered with include Galapagos National Park, the Charles Darwin Research Station, and local municipalities in Galapagos. Current projects include Education for Sustainability, Giant Tortoise Restoration Initiative, Sustainable Society, and Wildlife and Ecosystem Conservation.
