Hack the Hood is an award-winning, nonprofit organization located in Oakland, California. Hack the Hood introduces low-income youth to the technology industry through mini website Boot Camps and real-world consulting projects with local small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Under the guidance of industry professionals, Hack the Hood’s training programs incorporate website development, entrepreneurship, leadership, and life skills to prepare youth to become leaders of the future. Hack the Hood believes that youth should not only be consumers of technology, but innovators as well, and its goal is to train over 2,500 young people across five cities in the Bay Area.
