Located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Identity works to help Latino youth in Montgomery County establish a sense of purpose, establish connections, and gain confidence. A nonprofit organization, Identity assists young people and their families navigate social service systems in the community. With a goal of removing barriers to success, Identity provides programs in leadership development, HIV/AIDS prevention, environmental stewardship, mental health counseling, and other programs aimed at helping young people transition successfully into adulthood. About a third of Montgomery County's 130,000 Latinos are under the age of 18, and Identity offers a science-based program called Positive Youth Development to focus on preventing undesirable behaviors before they happen. As an employer, Identity has offered full-time and part-time job opportunities in the past.
