Lakeside School is a Seattle, Washington-based private school for grades five through twelve. With some 776 students, Lakeside School has a student-teacher ration of 9 to 1, and 27 percent of its students are on financial aid. All of Lakeside School's graduates are college-bound and ultimately enroll in four-year post-secondary institutions. With a mission to develop "intellectually capable young people" with a strong foundation in ethics and compassion, Lakeside School attracts students with a range of interests -- academic, athletic, and artistic included. Before its founding in 1919, the school was originally the Frank G. Moran School for Boys, an upper school on Bainbridge Island, and the name was officially changed to Lakeside School in 1923.
