The idea for PosiGen was inspired by the wake of Hurricane Katrina, when the people of New Orleans, Louisiana, were trying to rebuild and families in underserved communities were not able to afford the home upgrade initiatives being offered. The founders of the company saw this disparity and wanted to find a way to help disadvantaged individuals rebuild their homes and reestablish their lives. Ultimately, PosiGen decided it could bring solar to these communities by basing sales on putting customers first and only installing solar systems if they will save the customer money. Installing thousands of systems per year, the company also offers solar lease programs and purchasing options, as well as solar battery and energy efficiency solutions.
