Sierra Club Missouri Chapter is a regional member of the United States’ most influential environment-centered grassroots organization. It shares the nationwide Sierra Club mission to enjoy, explore, and protect the Earth’s wild places while educating others to responsibly use, protect, and restore the ecosystems and resources of the natural world. Sierra Club Missouri Chapter joins its sister organizations in a commitment to use any and all lawful means to carry out its environmental objectives. The 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization actively works to fight climate disruption, protect the health of families across the state, promote local job creation in the clean energy sector, and drive Missouri into a new energy economy.

Sierra Club Missouri Chapter is headquartered in Saint Louis, Missouri. The Chapter has four local groups that include the Osage region, based in Columbia; the White River region, based in Springfield; the Eastern Missouri region, based in St. Louis; and the Thomas Hart Benton region, based in Kansas City. An elected volunteer committee is responsible for making decisions about the actions of the Sierra Club Missouri Chapter, and all Missouri club members are eligible to run for and vote in the Executive Committee elections.
