Committed to "making democracy work for all," the League of Women Voters of St. Paul, Minnesota (LWVSP), is a part of the League of Women Voters (LWV), a grassroots, nonpartisan organization that aims to promote informed citizen involvement in government and shape public policy. Established in 1920, the League operates at local, state, and national levels.

The Ramsey County League of Women Voters came into fruition in 1919. After it closed its doors in 1947, a large portion of the membership became the League of Women Voters of St. Paul. The League has a history of committing to public education regarding the mechanics of government and voting and the necessity to vote. Publishing You are the Government that sold 17,000 copies its first year in 1948, the organization still publishes reports and other materials aimed to create an informed body of active citizens. Most recently in 2013, the League published "Guide to Government." Led by President Amy Mino, the organization works like other Leagues across the nation by choosing areas of focus, conducting research, taking positions, and lastly, taking action. The LWV of St. Paul takes positions on topics including education, social policies, sales tax, budget, communication, and more. LWVSP is proud of its members and volunteers and works to support them in ways such as conducting annual award ceremonies for outstanding service.
